Susan Dade awarded Star-News Commemorative Cup

For 26 years the Star-News Commemorative Cup has been a collectors item. This year, Susan Dade's painting, "Southport at Noon," has been chosen. Susan is happy to be the 1st Brunswick County artist to be selected. She has been a WAA member for 20+ yrs and is honored to have received numerous awards in the WAA Spring Shows. Susan will be signing "the Cup" at Star-News on Wednesday, November 30, as well as at Ricky Evans Gallery in Southport on Friday, December 2. Look for a full page write-up about "the Cup" in the Sunday Star-News on November 27th.

Art Show and Sale

Join Betty Brown, Barbara Bear Jamison, Rena Powell MacQueen, Anne Newbold Perkins, and Jenny McKimmon Wright for an Art Show and Sale of original artwork Friday, November 18 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and Saturday, November 19 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at 314 S. Front Street in Historic Downtown Wilmington.

Dreaming in color - The Merge

Wilmington Art Association members, Bev Haley and Aundrea Wilson would like to invite you to their duo show: "Dreaming in Color", watercolors by Bev and "The Merge", ceramic sculpture by Aundrea. The show will be held at the Leland Cultural Arts Center November 16 - December 31. There will be an artists' reception on December 8 from 6-8 pm.

Artist Reception at Village Gallery

Jay DeChesere, member of the Wilmington Art Association and also a member of the Village Gallery in Oriental, wants to invite you to his first “exhibiting artist” event showing twenty-five of his watercolors and pastels. The opening was November 5th and the exhibit will be available to view during the full month of November. Oriental is a wonderful day trip and destination, being the sailing capital of North Carolina. If you are a plein air painter, take this advantage to paint some of the shrimpers in the harbor or other attractions in the area. Randy McNamara's exhibition, CONSTANTS AND UNKNOWNS, in the Semans Gallery of the Durham Arts Council Building, in Durham NC, runs from November 11 to January 13, and the opening reception is December 16 from 5-7 pm.
